amniotic fluid-derived stem cells (afsc) and their application in cell therapy and tissue engineering

چکیده
results afscs have the potential to be used in tissue repair and regeneration of bladder and kidney injuries, for the treatment of congenital anomalies like tracheal anomalies and spina bifida therapy etc. however, like other treatment, afscs also have some limitations such as low rate of differentiation of transplanted afscs and immune rejection. conclusions afscs have great therapeutic potential, but extensive research is warranted to overcome the limitations to use afsc as therapy. context amniotic fluid derived stem cells (afsc) have mesenchymal origin and are multipotent. having played their role in the detection of genetic abnormalities in the unborn children, they are gaining attention in the regenerative medicine because of their pluripotency. evidence acquisition afscs possess great proliferating ability and have no ethical and religious issues in their use. afscs may also be studied for the stem cells differentiation such as production of multiple lineages of different cells like heart, liver, pancreas, etc. the potential of their use in regenerative medicine as well as their differentiation into multiple cells is possible.

Amniotic fluid-derived stem cells for cardiovascular tissue engineering applications.
Recent research has demonstrated that a population of stem cells can be isolated from amniotic fluid removed by amniocentesis that are broadly multipotent and nontumorogenic. These amniotic fluid-derived stem cells (AFSC) could potentially provide an autologous cell source for treatment of congenital defects identified during gestation, particularly cardiovascular defects. In this review, the v...
متن کاملApplication of Nanoscaffolds and Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Tissue Engineering
Stem cell research has obtained much prominence in recent years for its therapeutic potential in dealing with serious diseases, many of which are essentially incurable by routine therapies. Mesenchymal stem cells with pluripotency and immunomodulatory properties are suitable candidates for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Today, nanofibrous scaffolds are widely used in tissue en...
متن کاملRole of Stem Cells in Cardiac Cell Therapy and Tissue Engineering
Background: In spite of promising results of conventional treatments for myocardial infarction, including medications, stent implantation, and coronary artery bypass grafting, the disease and its complications, especially heart failure, are highly prevalent because these methods could not reverse the cell loss, which is the main problem. Currently, heart transplantation, as the last option f...
متن کاملAmniotic Fluid Stem Cells and Their Application in Cell-Based Tissue Regeneration
Advances in stem cell biotechnology hold great promise in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Of interest are marrow mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), embryonic stem cells (ESCs), and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). In addition, amniotic fluid stem cells (AFSCs) have attracted attention as a viable choice following the search for an alternative stem cell source. Inve...
